Bayonet cap lamp

Bayonet Base Lamps – Robust Light Sources with Secure Fitting

Bayonet base lamps are among the most proven lighting solutions in professional applications. Their characteristic bayonet mount ensures a secure fit in the socket – even in environments with vibration, frequent movement, or temperature fluctuations. This makes them especially popular in stage, studio, and event technology, as well as in signal and projection lighting or traditional interior lighting.

Secure Connection with Bayonet Mount

Unlike screw bases, bayonet bases are not screwed in but secured using a simple push-and-twist mechanism. Two small pins on the lamp base lock firmly into the socket with a short rotation. This connection is extremely stable while also allowing for quick and easy lamp replacement – a light press and twist is all it takes to install or remove the lamp.

Different Base Types: B22, BA15d, and BA9s

The B22 base, also known as a bayonet cap, is particularly common. With a diameter of 22 millimeters, it is used in a wide range of applications – from decorative fixtures and technical spots to professional stage lighting. Smaller versions such as BA15d or BA9s are often used in signal and specialty lighting, offering a compact design and precise fit.

Modern Alternatives – LED Instead of Halogen

If you want to replace existing halogen lamps with bayonet bases, you can easily switch to modern LED alternatives. They provide the same light quality with significantly lower energy consumption and a longer service life. It is important to ensure that the base type, voltage, and design are compatible to achieve a smooth transition to LED technology without compromising brightness or performance. When selecting LEDs for white light, also pay attention to the CRI value, as there can be significant differences in light quality within the LED range compared to conventional lamps.

For Stage, Studio, and Installation

Thanks to their versatility, bayonet base lamps are suitable for many applications in event technology. They combine reliability, safety, and ease of use, making them the ideal choice for anyone looking for durable, professional-grade light sources.
