SPORTS FACILITY

Objective

A three independent zone sports facility with two zones featuring high SPL’s and the third with background level audio. Each zone requires individual audio control.

CONCEPT

This project is treated as three separate installations as per the initial specification: reception, main gym area and spin studio. At the reception - including the changing rooms - five 4FW50T loudspeakers provide background audio, driven by a single 2SDL70 amplifier, and controlled by a VLA42 volume control node for input selection and volume setting.

In the main gym area, six 6FP100T loudspeakers combined with two 8SM300T subwoofers provide a punchy, high quality sound, with two 4SDL160 four-channel amplifiers powering all eight loudspeakers, fed by a single PAA42 media preamp. Finally, the spin studio features a high impact audio system consisting of four 6FP100T loudspeakers and two 8SM-300T subwoofers, all powered by two 4SDL160 power amplifiers running in 2.1 configuration, and fed by another PAA42.

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT

• Limited member access to audio systems
• High impact system in the spin studio
• Background level audio for reception and changing facilities
• All three zones must have the ability to be auto-muted when evacuation alarm is active
