CONFERENCE SUITE

Objective

An intuitive audio system that allows users of this conference suite to easily control and playback audio from media devices.

CONCEPT

This 22-seat conference suite features a 2.1 audio system with a pair of 6FP100T speakers and a single compact 8SM300T subwoofer. The latter is driven by a 4SDL160 four-channel amplifier. It is configured to its internal 2.1 mode and allows room-tuning functions. This system was chosen to provide higher sound pressure levels when needed, but also to provide a consistent and clear working volume. The amplifier is installed in a side room, inaccessible to the general users of the hall.

A single VLA42 was used because it has multiple audio inputs, includes an IR remote control, and can be installed above a false ceiling. Also, the included IR sensor extension can be used. Thus, the IR remote control can be reliably used throughout the room. A small patch panel is attached to the head of the console. Connecting audio devices is thus simple. The IR remote control allows source and volume control for each input.

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT

• Simple user control
• Clear and intelligible audio for users of the suite
• Remote control of the system for operation from the desktop
• Everything but the speakers must be installed out of sight
• No wireless audio connection required for maximum reliability
