History

The greatest company histories start in garages – and that’s true for ours, too: In the 1970s, Bernd and Klaus Steinigke already built amplifiers, mixers and lighting systems on their own. They started to tour their native region around Würzburg and made their first business contacts.

1979
In 1979, they founded the company “Steinigke Ton-Licht-Effekte”. Soon, their company grew too big for the garage: In 1985, they moved into their first office and produced their first catalog. Also in the same year, they began exporting to other European countries.
Musikmesse trade fair 1990
1990
Only five years later, in 1990, the company made its first appearance at the Musikmesse, the biggest trade fair of the industry. By then, products were imported from Italy, Spain and England.

In 1991, Steinigke embarked on a trendsetting path: Instead of selling only third party trademarks, the company now invested in developing an own brand. Under the name of Eurolite, the first own lighting products came into existence. The big success of Eurolite then led to the creation of more own brands: Later in the 1990s, Alutruss, Europalms, Futurelight, Omnilux and Omnitronic were launched.

Under the new name “Steinigke Showtechnic GmbH”, the company moved into its first own premises in Waldbüttelbrunn in 1993. The innovative show room was ranked among the biggest in Europe back then and set new standards. In the following years, the assortment grew in such dimensions, that the company area had to be expanded several times – up to a size of 30 000 m².
Web shop 2000

At the turn of the millennium – and therefore at a very early time – Steinigke published the first web shop, which was hosted on an in-house server. Once more, the company led the way for others in the industry.
TODAY
Today, Steinigke Showtechnic is one of the biggest manufacturers and distributors of show and event technology in Europe and an essential part of the industry. 150 team members see to the success of our customers with products coming from Waldbüttelbrunn. More than 95% of our assortment today consists of our own brands.
